1988 Harley-Davidson FLHTC Electra Glide Classic - goharley88

About 5 years ago my wife and I bought this bike from her father. It had some oil leaks and some other issues needing attention when we got it. I started fixing it up right away. My buddy even helped me paint it. I wanted it all black. He tried and tried to talk me into putting a trick paint job on it but I was convinced black would be cooler. Well soon after I realized he was right, it got lost in the crowd. So I saved up some more money and decided to go whole hog this time. I bought a Bad dad saddle bag stretch kit and fender to start out with. The problem is they dont make a kit for the 88. My bags are an inch shorter than the newer bikes. My buddy chopped and inch out of the stretch and glassed it back together before installing it on the bike. Well then we realized the bike is narrower in the rear end. So we had to shave some width off the rear fender too. Once that was done it was all downhill. We used some HOK candy and added some real fire. We also painted the inner fairing to finish it off. After putting it back together I had to have some rims. I added a 21" Hogpro front rim and a matching 16" to the rear. Then I had to have an air ride set up. So I got a remote controlled Arnott set up. I am real proud of how she turned out. It will take a while to get used to all the attention I am getting now. The best part is I did it myself.
